Supported accommodation in Harrow
Hope Place was established in 2013 as a practical solution for those who are homeless in the Borough of Harrow. The first people to benefit from this accommodation came from FirmFoundation’s Winter Night Shelter 2013. The transition from street to shelter and into Hope Place, has meant that each life has been enriched and on a stable footing for the future.
The Ark was added in 2021 and provides five additional rooms for rough sleepers with support needs. FirmFoundation now offers eight beds over two properties.

FirmFoundation supported accommodation aims
To provide supported accommodation for those leaving rough sleeping.
To provide the appropriate level of support, leading to independence.
To build on the time spent with FirmFoundation and to move on to their own accommodation.
Vadimir's Story
Jim arrived anxious and worn down by homelessness, unsure of what came next. Calm nights, clean clothes and respectful support at the shelter gave him space to breathe, rebuild confidence and begin moving forward again with hope, dignity and stability.

Ongoing work
FirmFoundation’s move on accommodation Hope Place (3 bed) and The Ark (5 bed) houses up to 8 people over the two properties.
Individuals move in with FirmFoundation for up to 2yrs, establishing themselves while receiving the appropriate level of support. During this stay a person is able to grow in independence and skills which will eventually lead to secure accommodation of their own.
